I took this photo on Balboa Island in California. California is one of my favorite places to be. My family lives there and I have really fond memories of riding the Ferris Wheel when I was younger. Going back as a teenager, I'm still fascinated by the places you can

This is a picture of my dog Esther. I love the way that the leaves were spread around her from the wind and I knew it was the perfect photo opportunity. Even though the leaves are from the same tree, they all vary in shape, size, and color. The mask is the perfect way to highlight the leaves similarities and differences.
This is a clock that hangs in my kitchen. Since I was a little girl, I can't remember the last time it was working properly. Even if it doesn't tell the correct time, it's such a statement piece that my family leaves it up for decoration. Even with all of the patters and colors, they all seem to blend together perfectly which I think was really fun to capture. Applying the mask allowed me to see just how vibrant some of the colors are.

This piece if art is one of my mom's favorites. It is not visible with the mask, but the yellow in the sun blends really nicely with the orange wall in the background. Usually, a mask would highlight the subject of a photo but I decided to highlight the background and draw emphasis to the texture within the sun.
This photo is from a Mexican restaurant in California. The walls surrounding the restaurant are covered in hand-drawn artwork, but this wall is my personal favorite. There are so many aspects to the paintings and every-time I look at this picture I feel as if I discover something that I hadn't seen before. I used the mask to highlight some of the most vibrant colors.
