When I went to California on Spring Break, we visited the Sunset Cliffs National Park in San Diego. The ocean in the background was perfect for taking portraits. My dad has a lot of self confidence and he is never afraid to laugh at himself. It's a quality of his that I admire greatly. When I saw the bench that he is sitting on in the pictures, I thought it would work well for a horizontal leading line along with the ocean horizon. The sun was shining very bright that day so it was hard to reduce the shadows on his face but I also didn't want the picture to become too bright. Adding the black and white filter helped reduce the glare. In the picture on the right, the sun is shining on his face but I like the way that his eyes are still a focal point. It took multiple tries to figure out the best lighting but I am happy
